​The above photos illustrate: The kind of work that was put into this project.  This is true example of "Old School" fabrication that is done by hand & machine to achieve a very specific custom Vintage look and feel.   These parts were not milled or run-off on a Computer Controlled CNC machine.  They were machined on a Manual Milling machine individually.

Above is a typical example of the kind of Conceptual Sketches we worked up for Clients to show exactly what a finished product will look like in their home.  Notes, modifications and revisions were made until we arrived at a design that met the Clients aesthetics and requirements and also met our sensibility for quality, safety, durability and ease of use.

CHALLENGING goals & objectives...

  • Make these parts easy to install and remove with readily-available-tools by anyone of reasonable skill
  • Maintain the same look and feel of the custom railings that they were to be attached to
  • Make these parts safe, durable and easy-to-operate 
  • Make these parts with a full range of adjustable capabilities to counter act the wide range of challenges that occur typically in Hanging any Door or Gate off of a hinge.  There are a series of set screws that are embedded in the design of each hinge that can offset the weight of the gates against the thin steel rods that serve as balusters for the railings

These staircase railings were originally designed by PBS Architects and were never planned for functional Baby Gates: Therefore we have to engineer a solution that addressed 3 main issues. 1) Gates must be easily removable  2) They must match the existing railings in look and feel  3) The new gates must be safe, secure but easy to use with one hand.
